Step-by-Step Cleaning Instructions

1. Turn Off and Unplug the Unit

Before beginning any maintenance, ensure the air purifier is turned off and unplugged from the electrical outlet to prevent any electrical hazards.

2. Access the Filters

Locate the filter compartment, typically at the back or bottom of the unit. Open the compartment door to access the filters.

3. Remove the Filters

Carefully pull out each filter, starting with the Stainless Steel Pre-Filter. Note the orientation of each filter to ensure correct reinstallation.

4. Clean the Stainless Steel Pre-Filter

  • Method: Use a vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment to gently remove dust and debris.

  • Alternative: Rinse under warm water if heavily soiled.

  • Drying: Allow it to air dry completely before reinstallation.

5. Clean the Bio-Guard Filter

  • Method: Spray a mild degreaser on the filter and let it sit for 2-3 minutes.

  • Rinsing: Submerge the filter in warm water, shake gently, and rinse thoroughly.

  • Drying: Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinstalling.

6. Clean the Ozone Emission Removal Filter

This filter is not washable. Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe the surface gently. Do not immerse in water.

7. Replace the HEPA/Activated Carbon Combo Filter

This filter is non-washable and should be replaced approximately every 5 years, depending on usage. Check the manufacturer's recommendations for specific replacement intervals.

These instructions are the clearest I have had access to. I didn’t realize the HEPA carbon filter was to be replaced every 5 years. I have been replacing it every 6 months. Also, I didn’t remember that the Bio-guard can be washed and the Steel filter can be rinsed. I have had 2 machines for over 7 years, and I look forward to using them for many more. They do an excellent job in our 1550 sq ft condo.

I absolutely love this Nuwave filtering system . I’ve bought several aire purifiers over the years but have not been overly impressed. At first my reason for getting the Nuwave system was just mainly due to having 2 dogs and 2 cats and of course I have horrible allergies. I didn’t know how dirty my air and home actually was until I did a complete breakdown of my Nuwave Oxipure. I was amazed and disgusted at what was in my air that my family and I had been breathing in. This being said I also have a full beauty and tanning salon and in the process of opening a cosmetology school in which I truly believe every salon should have one. As a cosmetologist and now cosmetology instructor and school owner I truly think these should be promoted as a must to have in all businesses such as these. With time this career can lead to COPD and several other lung problems, therefore after seeing exactly how much this cleans the air in my home and the difference it has made in my allergies this will be my next purchase to put in my businesses. There isn’t a home that has pets or a business where chemicals are used by the employees or on their patrons that should not have your product in it.
Thanks so much!
