Homemade Mayonnaise

Ingredients

  • 1 egg yolk
  • ¼ t Dijon mustard
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • ¼ t white vinegar
  • ¼ t Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 T warm water
  • 1½ C canola oil, divided
  • Sea salt to taste
  • Tabasco® sauce to taste

Directions

  1. Add egg yolk, mustard, lemon juice, vinegar, Worcestershire, water, and ½C oil to jar.
  2. Set blender to "10" and blend for 1 minute. Remove plunger cap and slowly add oil while continuing to blend until mixture reaches thickness of traditional mayonnaise.
  3. Season with salt and Tabasco®.
  4. Refrigerate overnight.
