Ingredients
- 2 T butter
- 1 large sweet onion, sliced
- 2 T brown sugar
- 1 pinch caraway seed
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 6 whole bratwursts
- 2 (16-oz) cans beer
- 6 oz sauerkraut, rinsed
- 6 hoagie rolls (split)
- 2 T spicy brown mustard
Directions
- Preheat Bravo and set to bake at 350°F. Melt butter in a 10-inch roasting pan. Place onions in and cook until tender, 5 min.
Add sugar, caraway seeds, and pepper. Stir. Remove onions with pan; set aside in pan.
Poke a few holes in brats with fork. Place brats on top. Cover brats in pan with beer. Cook for 6 min. until brats are cooked. Remove brats. Add kraut and stir. Remove pan.
Bring temperature up in Bravo and set to broil at 500°F (TOP only). Place brats in roasting pan. Set pan on cooking rack in position roasting pan on shelf position 2.
- Broil brats until golden brown, and return to beer/kraut mixture until ready to serve. Serve brats on fresh baked Hoagie roll with sauerkraut & onions, and spicy brown mustard. Serve.
