Ingredients

4 c all-purpose flour

2 t sea salt

1 c shortening, cold

½ c butter, unsalted, cold

10 T cold water

12 apples, any variety, peeled, cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices

2 c sugar, granulated

2 T cinnamon, ground

½ c butter, unsalted

1-1½ c water
-
½ c butter, unsalted, melted
Directions
Preheat oven to 400°F. Mix flour, salt, shortening, and ½ c whole cold butter together with a pastry blender until well blended. Add water to flour mixture. Mix all ingredients together with a fork until a ball forms slightly.
- Divide the dough in half. Roll one half of the dough on a lightly floured surface with a rolling pin and place into the enamel baking dish. Or, use Silicone Baking Pan.
Place sliced apples in prepared dish, set aside. In a large saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, cinnamon, ½ c butter and water over medium heat until butter melts. Pour over apples in prepared dish.
- Roll the other half of the dough on a slightly floured surface and place over the top of cobbler.
- Brush liberally with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 50-60 minutes.
