Ingredients
- 2 T extra-virgin olive oil
- 3 cinnamon sticks, 2-inch
- 4 pods cardamom
- 1 onion, small dice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 T ginger, fresh, grated
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 t garam masala
- 1 t sea salt

½ t turmeric, ground

½ t cayenne pepper, ground

½ t coriander, ground

½ t cumin seeds

¼ t chili powder
- 1 tomato, small dice

¼ c water
- 1 c peas, frozen or fresh
- Sea salt
- Black pepper
Directions
Set pressure cooker to "sear" and add oil. When oil is hot add cinnamon and cardamom. Sauté for 15 seconds then add onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are soft. Add ground beef. Break up ground beef and sauté for 4 minutes then add bay leaves, garam asala, salt, turmeric, cayenne pepper, coriander, cumin seed, chili powder, tomato, and water.
- Close and lock lid, set pressure cooker to "meat/stew", and adjust time to 5 minutes. Press start/stop.
- When done, quick release and make sure all pressure is released before opening lid. Carefully open lid and add peas and stir. Check seasoning and add salt and pepper, if needed. Serve when peas are heated through.
