Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons exttra virgin olive oil
- 1 small white onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- ½ cup fresh basil, finely chopped
- 1 (6-ounce) can tomato paste
- 5 (28-ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes, crushed by hand
- 2 tablespoons sea salt
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- Fresh cracked black pepper to taste
Directions
- Set Skillet to 350ºF and add oil, onion, and garlic, then sauté for 3-4 minutes.
- Add tomato paste and stir to incorporate and darken slightly.
- Reduce to 275ºF and add crushed tomatoes, salt, sugar, and pepper then cover.
- Simmer for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- Fold in basil and let cool or serve immediately

TIPS
If sauce bubbles too much, reduce the temperature.
